House Republicans are Freaking Out About Losing the Majority and Don’t Know What to Do

Deputy Speaker Johnson faces internal revolt

After yet another string of stinging defeats at the ballot box and in state houses this week, Republicans are growing increasingly depressed about their chances of keeping the House majority. The Chair of the RNC this week predicted a midterm disaster, saying that Republicans “are facing almost certain defeat.” Former GOP Speaker Newt Gingrich said that Republicans are “in real trouble” over the economy.

Things are so bad that House Republicans are turning on Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson and calling for his removal.

The American people are rejecting Republicans’ broken promises to lower costs, with 68% of American adults saying the economy is “poor.” Things will only get worse for House Republicans as they continue to dig their heels in and refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“House Republicans are losing the American public and they are freaking out so much that they are turning against Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson because they know they are going to lose the House majority.”
