| With Democratic special election victories piling up, Trump’s approval ratings in free fall, and prices skyrocketing with no end in sight, Democrats have all the momentum heading into the final 6 months of the midterm campaign.
Republicans have fallen behind resoundingly on every issue they hoped to leverage in the midterm race: the economy, taxes, immigration, and foreign policy. The result has been an ever-expanding battleground map that threatens dozens of Republican incumbents and sets up the party for their worst midterm loss since 2018.
Even Republicans’ “signature” legislative accomplishment has become a third rail for the party, as their economic message last week oscillated between attacks on the Vatican and finger pointing over FISA.
DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley:
“House Republicans are completely cooked. Democrats are piling up special election victories, raking in campaign cash, and are united behind a message of lowering costs for hardworking families. We’d say Mike Johnson should just throw in the towel, but it feels like he already has.”
