House Republicans Continue to Embrace Trump’s Lies, Extremism, Antisemitism, and Conspiracy Theories

Yesterday, House Republicans’ choice for president spent over an hour lying about his record and spreading dangerous conspiracy theories. House Republicans’ overwhelming silence in the wake of Trump’s rambling press conference is a clear reminder to voters about how willing they are to put his extremism over their communities.

House Republicans have refused to condemn Trump’s lies and dangerous statements, including his:

  • Assertion that “nobody was killed on Jan. 6.” where at least 7 people died in connection with the insurrection that he instigated.

  • Calling far-right efforts to pass dangerous abortion bans a “very small issue.”

  • Refusing to answer questions about whether or not he supports Florida’s abortion ban.

  • Statement that “Anybody that votes for [Vice President Harris], if you’re Jewish or if you love Israel, you have to have your head examined.”

In fact, many House Republicans have previously parroted these exact same claims:

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Trump is once again spreading lies, speaking incoherently, and telegraphing his dictatorial ambitions. No matter how many times Trump goes on these hate-filled tirades, one thing remains constant: House Republicans will always put their blind loyalty to him above working families.”
