House Republicans Embrace Neo-Nazi Replacement Theory

Racist Replacement Theory Spreads Like Wildfire Among GOP

The once-fringe “replacement theory” behind the tiki-torch Neo-Nazi “You will not replace us!” chants in Charlottesville has quickly moved from the far-right periphery of the GOP to the mainstream, as top House leaders have embraced this dangerous rhetoric.

new report this morning finds that Republicans are becoming “more brazen” in embracing the racist, neo-Nazi “replacement theory.” Multiple members are named in the report, including House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik.

This comes just two months after the American Jewish Council released a study that found GOP members were “targeting American Jews” with dangerous anti-Semitic rhetoric.

REMINDER: Just two years ago, Kevin McCarthy said on Face The Nation that former Rep. Steve King’s racist replacement theory comments had “no place in America.”

Just three months after King endorsed replacement theory in an interview, McCarthy stripped King of his committee assignments.

So why won’t Kevin McCarthy take action now against this hateful, dangerous rhetoric that’s reaching new levels of prominence in his conference?
