House Republicans Give Up On Governing, Prepare To Greenlight Illegitimate Impeachment Inquiry

In a cynical attempt to distract the public from months of Republican chaos, dysfunction and infighting, House GOP Leadership is poised to schedule a vote to authorize an illegitimate impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden – despite lacking evidence of wrongdoing.

According to Republican Ken Buck, “this impeachment inquiry was a result of President Trump’s pressure.”

Extreme conspiracy theorist and Trump loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene bragged that the impeachment inquiry began without a vote earlier this fall because of her.

Rather than stand up and work for everyday families, vulnerable House Republicans have abandoned their communities to do Donald Trump’s bidding in the halls of Congress as they prepare to greenlight the inquiry as soon as this week.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans are leaving everyday Americans behind at the expense of appeasing Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Their planned vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry is nothing more than a waste of time that could be better spent lowering costs, making our communities safe, and creating new jobs.”

REMINDER: According to new polling, nearly 7 out of 10 voters in battleground districts said Republicans in Congress have prioritized the wrong things.
