With only two months until the midterms, House Republicans are grappling with their biggest, largest, roundest political conundrum: Donald Trump.
After the NRCC spent the entire cycle rebranding themselves as the “MAGA Majority”, a new POLITICO report reveals that, behind closed doors, some vulnerable Republicans are begging Trump’s team to keep the president away from their districts—with one senior GOP operative admitting, “We’ve told them he cannot come… Candidly, he would not be helpful here.”
In an incredibly awkward split-screen though,vulnerable Republicans are dining with Trump at a White House Rose Garden dinner eating (foreign?) beef everyday families can’t afford.
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson: “House Republicans made their bed with Donald Trump and now they have to lie in it. No matter how frantically they try to hide from him over these final few weeks, voters won’t forget that they continue to beg him for cash, while rubber-stamping his reckless economic agenda. It’s pathetic.”
