House Republicans March Toward Nationwide Abortion Ban Before 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Today, House Republicans passed two anti-abortion bills that chip away at women’s reproductive freedoms and attempt to deny them access to essential health care.

These measures would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential health care. The first of these was even endorsed by the extreme, anti-choice National Right to Life Committee, an organization that advocates for a national abortion ban.

Their dangerous votes come as new polling shows historic levels of support for abortion access, including 66% of voters who oppose ongoing Republican efforts to pass a national abortion ban.

House Republicans are doing everything they can to restrict abortion access, no matter how unpopular.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans have fully bought into the delusional belief that their crusade to attack women’s freedoms and ban abortion nationwide is a winning strategy for them. Their out-of-touch strategy will no doubt cost them their majority this November.”
