Today, House Republicans passed a dangerous, untenable budget out of committee that decimates essential programs that the middle class and seniors depend upon. This absurd proposal:

Includes $400 billion of Medicare cuts to providers

Opens the door to even more Social Security and Medicare cuts

Cuts Medicaid and SNAP benefits

Undermines the Affordable Care Act’s consumer protections

Extends tax cuts for the wealthy and well-connected

Cuts good-paying jobs and investments

Uses budget gimmicks without actually balancing the budget

Cuts funding for roads and bridges
House Republicans have proven that their dangerous majority cannot be trusted to govern or deliver for the middle class.
