House Republicans Must Answer the “Ayotte Question”

Like the Presidential and Senate races, House debates are in full swing. The epic fallout since the last presidential debate leaves a number of questions unanswered from House Republicans regarding their support of Donald Trump. And, with the election fast-approaching, voters deserve answers.

The most pressing follows Senator Kelly Ayotte’s jaw-dropping comments last night that Donald Trump is “absolutely” a role model for our children:

  • Do House Republicans agree that their standard-bearer – who spent the last week fat-shaming a Latina, discrediting the strength of veterans with PTSD, and late-night maniacal tweeting – should be a role model for our children?

“To be honest, we ruled out asking House Republicans if Donald Trump is a role model for our children because the answer seemed too obvious. But, Kelly Ayotte has proven that there is no question too simple for Congressional Republicans desperately trying to walk the line between Donald Trump supporters and the voters who are repelled by him.

“In upcoming debates, House Republicans must answer the ‘Ayotte Question,’ which will be just one test of their judgement – or lack thereof,” said Meredith Kelly of the DCCC.
