House Republicans Scheme to Make Americans Pay More for Medicine

House Republicans “absolutely” want to repeal existing laws that lower prescription drug prices

House Republicans have honed in on one of their closing messages with less than fifty days to go until Election Day: make medicine more expensive.

House Republicans continue to make it clear that they “absolutely” want to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act and raise prescription drug costs for seniors and families, following in Project 2025 and the Republican Study Committee’s footsteps.

Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act allowed Medicare to negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs and capped the cost of insulin for Medicare recipients at $35 a month. These measures are expected to save taxpayers $6 billion and help older Americans save $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket medication costs.

Not a single House Republican voted for this law.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans want to make medicine more expensive.”
