House Republicans Sign Away Their Seats by Supporting Historically Unpopular GOP Tax Scam

DCCC Launches Holiday Digital Ad Blitz to Make Clear Who the GOP & Trump’s  “Great Christmas Gift” Really Benefits

Today, House Republicans took the final step in forcing their historically unpopular Tax Scam on the American people, despite widespread and fierce local backlash. Extensive public polling and months of DCCC polling confirm that this scam will haunt House Republicans in the upcoming midterms.

After passage of the Republican Tax Scam in the Republican-controlled house, the DCCC immediately launched a holiday ad blitz in 50 Republican-held districts on both Facebook and Instagram, making clear who this “great Christmas gift” really benefits. Every single House Republican is being held responsible for this irresponsible tax scam that their leadership has jammed through.

“When House Republicans say ‘Merry Christmas,’ apparently it’s only to millionaires, billionaires, and large corporations,” said DCCC Communications Director Meredith Kelly. “This tax scam is loaded up with special interest loopholes and tax breaks for the wealthiest and biggest corporations, while the middle class gets stuck with higher taxes and coal in their stockings.

“Democratic candidates are already running against this tax scam and winning the debate in their communities, and passing this historically unpopular bill will have far-reaching electoral consequences for House Republicans next year,” continued Kelly.

The Tax Scam includes tax hikes for millions of middle class Americans, massive giveaways to corporations and the wealthy, and a repeal of a crucial part of the Affordable Care Act that will cause healthcare premiums to skyrocket. To make matters worse, this Tax Scam continues to set the stage for cuts to Medicare and Social Security because of the massive increase to the national debt it creates.
