Today House Democrats passed the CHIPS and Science Act, legislation that will reduce America’s reliance on foreign countries, boost our ability to compete with China, and secure supply chains through good-paying American manufacturing jobs. Republicans, on the other hand, are trying to take a wrecking ball to solutions that will better America and in turn give China the upper hand and put our national security at risk.
187 Republicans voted no, following their party leaders’ directives.
This legislation, now headed to President Biden’s desk, will create jobs, strengthen national security, and help address inflation.
“The contrast between the two parties couldn’t be clearer,” said DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia. “While Republicans tried to stop the creation of American manufacturing jobs, House Democrats worked vigorously to pass this bill which will secure jobs, strengthen our supply chain, and boost America’s competitiveness worldwide.” |
