Two years ago, every single House Republican voted against the Inflation Reduction Act and the expansion of the ACA subsidies that kept health care costs down. If House Republicans had their way, they would let these subsidies expire and raise health care costs on roughly 20 million Americans.
Some people could see costs rise by hundreds or thousands of dollars, and approximately 3.4 million people would lose their health insurance altogether.
House Republicans have proposed numerous measures to raise health care costs this Congress, including raising the price of prescription drugs for 3.3 million people and privatizing Medicare.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans have failed to lower health care costs for everyday Americans and, in fact, have consistently voted against lowering costs every chance they’ve had. Voters can see that House Republicans haven’t lifted a finger to help them on pocketbook issues and know only House Democrats will deliver the much needed relief people need when we retake the majority.”
