Hudson Must Return DeJoy Donations After New Revelations

Hudson Has Accepted over $6,000 from DeJoy

Yesterday, explosive new reporting from the Washington Post revealed that USPS Postmaster General allegedly pressured his employees at New Breed Logistics to donate to Republican candidates in exchange for reimbursements through annual bonuses, in what would amount to an illegal straw donor scheme.

In the wake of these revelations, the Attorney General of North Carolina has called for an investigation into DeJoy, a man who Congressman Rich Hudson has accepted over $6,000 from throughout his career.

In addition to potential ties to this illegal straw donor scheme, Hudson has also faced mounting criticism for defending DeJoy’s changes to the USPS that made it harder for veterans to receive their prescription drugs and for voting against emergency funding for the Post Office.

“In the wake of these appalling new reports of Louis DeJoy coercing his employees into a straw donor scheme, Rich Hudson must immediately return any and all donations connected to DeJoy and condemn this behavior,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “Right now, North Carolinians are watching to see if Hudson will do the right thing and distance himself from this outright scandal or if he’ll continue his career-long pattern of putting his own political interests ahead of his constituents.”
