In a questionnaire for Virginia Constitutional Conservatives, Republican Hung Cao pledged to sponsor legislation “defunding Obamacare, not replacing it,” which would gut protections for 1.3 million Virginians with pre-existing conditions.
The Virginia Constitutional Conservatives survey laments that “efforts to repeal or de-fund Obamacare have failed” and asks candidates to sponsor legislation to fully defund the Affordable Care Act with no replacement. This could leave more than a million with no access to life-saving health care, like Virginians with cancer, asthma, diabetes, or even pregnancy.
“It’s no surprise that Hung Cao, who compared reproductive health care with the atrocities of the Holocaust, also wants to rob millions of Virginians with pre-existing conditions of their health care,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “He’s completely out of touch with Virginia families who count on the Affordable Care Act to afford life-saving medication and treatment. Cao pledged to throw all of them under the bus if given the opportunity.”
