This week, hypocrite Tom Barrett did something you can expect to see a lot this election cycle – he tried to dishonestly rewrite his record and lied to Michiganders. Barrett claimed his so-called commitment to “oppose any effort to raise taxes.”

But Tom Barrett’s record tells a different story. Barrett supported Michigan Republicans’ gas tax hike, which is hitting Michiganders’ pocketbooks right now and making life less affordable for families.

“Tom Barrett’s hypocrisy is on full display as he shamelessly tries to rewrite his record of raising taxes on Michigan families,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Barrett’s brazen attempt to say one thing and do another is yet another reminder why he can’t be trusted to deliver for Michigan.”
