ICYMI: Abortion is on the Ballot in Key Battleground Districts

Democratic Frontliners in key battleground districts are making the contrast between them and their extreme Republican opponents clear when it comes to protecting access to abortion.

A new Associated Press report is highlighting Republican candidates’ extreme anti-choice positions and what Democratic Frontliners are doing to make the 2022 choice clear to voters:

  • Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03), whose likely Republican opponent, Amanda Adkins, wants to ban abortion without exceptions;

  • Rep. Angie Craig (MN-02), whose likely Republican opponent, Tyler Kistner, supports allowing states to ban abortion with no exceptions;

  • Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03), whose Republican opponent, Zach Nunn, wants to ban abortion nationwide without exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of mother;

  • Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-07), whose likely Republican opponent, Tom Barrett, supports banning abortion without exceptions for rape or incest and has called himself pro-life with “no exceptions”;

  • Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), whose Republican opponent, Yesli Vega, falsely suggested women are less likely to get pregnant from rape;

  • Rep. Elaine Luria (VA-02), whose Republican opponent, Jen Kiggans, wants to ban abortion nationwide;

  • And Rep. Susan Wild (PA-07), whose Republican opponent, Lisa Scheller, said she could support a bill to ban abortion — with no exceptions for cases of rape or incest.

“These Republican candidates are seriously out-of-step with voters’ broad support for reproductive freedom,” said DCCC spokesperson Helen Kalla. “We will be reminding voters of these Republicans’ extreme positions – as House Republicans plot to ban abortion nationwide – every day until November.”
