ICYMI: Amanda Adkins: It Was “An Honor” to Work for Sam Brownback

Even before officially announcing her bid for Congress, Sam Brownback adviser Amanda Adkins faced serious questions about whether her years of working for the deeply unpopular former governor would make Adkins politically toxic in Kansas – and one look at Brownback’s record shows why. With Adkins by his side, Brownback executed a tax experiment that resulted in historic cuts to education that are still impacting Kansas families.

Yet instead of disavowing her ties to Brownback and his failed agenda, Adkins said yesterday on the “Could be Big” podcast that working for him had been “an honor.”

From The Could Be Big Podcast:

HOST: The media and others have sort of glommed onto the fact that you worked for Sam Brownback as if that’s some kind of cudgel to hit you with, but having worked in campaigns myself, the fact that you managed his Senate campaign I think is a real feather in your cap…

ADKINS: You are right, and I at that time, that cycle, he received the highest number of votes in Kansas history, just for your awareness, so we ran an incredible campaign, it was an honor to work on it.
