This week, in an interview with the Syracuse Post-Standard, NY-22 GOP candidate Brandon Williams refused to comment on whether or not he would have voted to certify the 2020 election.
He also said he “doesn’t have a well informed opinion” on January 6th when asked whether or not Trump incited the insurrection.
This strict adherence to MAGA extremism is hardly new for Williams. Throughout his campaign, he has been anti-choice “without any qualification” and an unabashed supporter of efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade. He has chosen to use his platform to defend the gun lobby over American families and advocated a national concealed carry law as the answer to increased gun violence.
This latest dose of extremism and willful ignorance is hardly surprising.

“No matter how hard he tries, Brandon Williams always manages to reveal his true extremism. Central New York voters won’t elect someone who refuses to stand up for democracy.”
