ICYMI: George Santos Brags About Financially Supporting Jan 6th Insurrectionists in New Video

Santos Admits to Writing “Nice Check” on Behalf of Insurrectionists

Newsday reported a newly surfaced video that shows Republican candidate George Santos confirming he wrote a “nice check” to support January 6th defendants with their legal fees.

The video makes clear that over a year after personally attending the “Stop the Steal” rally, Santos continues to side with the extreme and violent defendants whose actions resulted in five officer deaths and nearly 150 injuries.

“I’ve actually been working on funding a ton of them to get out,” Santos says in the video. “I went down to D.C. GITMO and I wrote a nice check to a law firm to see if we can help some of them out. Don’t want to publicize it.”

DCCC Spokesperson Ian Clarke
“George Santos has proven time and again that he stands on the side of dangerous ideologues, election deniers, and insurrectionists. Long Island can’t afford to risk an extremist like Santos in Washington.”
