ICYMI: House Committee Officially Investigating George Santos

Despite his efforts to weaken the Office of Congressional Ethics, George Santos is officially under investigation

Today, the House Ethics Committee confirmed that serial liar and alleged criminal George Santos is in fact facing a formal investigation.

According to the committee, a subcommittee formed to investigate Santos will have “jurisdiction to determine whether Representative George Santos may have: engaged in unlawful activity with respect to his 2022 congressional campaign; failed to properly disclose required information on statements filed with the House; violated federal conflict of interest laws in connection with his role in a firm providing fiduciary services; and/or engaged in sexual misconduct towards an individual seeking employment in his congressional office.”

Just last month, Santos claimed to be unaware of the fact his own staffers were being interviewed by the committee.

REMINDER: Kevin McCarthy has said George Santos will be removed from office if the House Ethics Committee finds that he broke the law.

Considering the trail of evidence Santos left of breaking multiple campaign finance laws during his campaign and breaking federal law by attempting to fundraise off his congressional swearing-in, the extremist Congressman should have reason to worry.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Santos has proven time and time again that he’s incredibly unfit to serve, and this necessary investigation is a critical step forward towards ensuring voters in Long Island see the transparency and accountability they’ve long deserved.”
