This morning, President Trump’s cruel campaign promise of mass deportations became a reality when an Arizona family was torn apart as the result of his recent immigration executive order.
“Through inhumane mass deportations, President Trump and Republicans are bringing chaos, distrust and fear into Latino and immigrant communities,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “Latinos and immigrants are paying close attention to what Republicans are doing in Washington and they will remember these Republican attacks against their communities come next election.”

- We live today in a country grown hard and resentful of outsiders, a country that has taken on the personality of a new president who ran for months on the promise that he would deport all of the estimated 12 million to 20 million undocumented immigrants in the country.
- Donald Trump skinned back that promise and now plans to go after migrants who have committed crimes, but given his erratic behavior during the transition and first month in office, one must brace for the possibility that he will one day marshal the forces of mass deportation.
