Roll Call race ratings have been changed in Iowa’s 1st District to Tilts Democratic – one of only two in the country.
“Congressman Blum is out-of-touch and is rapidly losing the support of his constituents,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “The onslaught of criticism over his support for pro-discrimination legislation has Rod Blum grasping at straws and making blatantly false claims – a choice that has severely damaged his credibility with the people he represents.”
It’s no secret that Rod Blum has had a tough time since going to Washington. Blum has tried to pretend he’s an outsider while pandering to extreme special interests and joining the pro-government shutdown House Freedom Caucus. He has hugged Donald Trump closely even as he launches disturbing attacks on a war hero and women across the nation. Blum has also received hit after hit for supporting (and not telling the truth about) extreme legislation that would legalize discrimination and could lead to the firing of single, pregnant women.
Bottom line: when people find out more about Rod Blum, they are less and less comfortable with him representing them in Congress.
