Syracuse Mayor Calls Out Katko’s Vote to Defund Planned Parenthood, Broken Promise to Central New York Voters

In case you missed it – Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner called out Congressman John Katko last night on Capital Tonight for his recent vote to defund Planned Parenthood — a move which would have cut off funding for non-abortion related health services for women and families in his district – and breaking a promise he made to voters during his 2014 campaign to support Planned Parenthood.

“I think it’s disingenuous to have the House [Republicans] attack Planned Parenthood and say this is about abortion when it’s really about access to women’s healthcare,” said Mayor Miner on Capitol Tonight. “The Congressman [Katko] said he wouldn’t vote against Planned Parenthood, he did vote against Planned Parenthood.”
