Eleven-year State Senator Terri Bonoff announced over the weekend her challenge to Republican Congressman Erik Paulsen in Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District.
Sen. Bonoff has spent eleven years in the state legislature as an effective advocate for innovative education programs and strong local transportation systems. Now she’s challenging Congressman Erik Paulsen and the extreme anti-woman agenda he shares with the Republican establishment, calling for him to “reject” the violence and extremism in his party, and “defend his silence” on the hateful rhetoric we are seeing from presidential contenders Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
In a district that went for Obama twice, it’s clear Bonoff’s announcement has Republicans rattled.
And as one non-partisan local political expert noted, “This is a big deal.”
