In Honor of Don Bacon’s 60th Birthday, Here’s A Nonexhaustive List of Bacon Working Against Seniors

As Don Bacon celebrates his 60th birthday, here’s a reminder that Bacon has consistently voted against Nebraska seniors. In Congress, Bacon has:

  • Voted against legislation allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and capping out-of-pocket costs to $2,000 for older Americans, including capping the cost of insulin to $35/month.

  • Jeopardized Social Security and Medicare as a member of the Republican Study Committee, which proposed a budget earlier this year that would raise the retirement age and privatize Medicare.

  • Voted against the American Rescue Plan, which earmarked over $1.4 billion for senior centers, healthy aging programs, nutrition, in-home services, transportation, caregiver support, and elder abuse protections.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“We can’t let Don Bacon ring in this milestone birthday without highlighting his long record of working against Nebraska’s seniors in Congress – from opposing legislation to lower prescription drug costs to threatening seniors’ hard-earned Social Security and Medicare.”
