In NY-01, Major Police Association Endorses Democratic Nominee Bridget Fleming

Bridget Fleming further proves herself as the only candidate in this race committed to public safety

This week, the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) announced its endorsement of former prosecutor and county legislator Bridget Fleming in the race for NY-01.

Unlike extremist GOP nominee Nick LaLota, who tried to defund the police and even went as far as proposing to abolish the Amityville Police Department, Fleming has long stood alongside law enforcement, making her the clear choice for their endorsement in this competitive swing district.

Let’s not forget, LaLota championed a plan that violated the police union’s contract and stole $123,000 in overtime wages from police officers. The union also called LaLota out for understaffing the department to “its lowest levels since 1975.”

Meanwhile, Bridget Fleming helped law enforcement get the funding they needed to do their jobs and strengthen public safety.

“There’s only one candidate in NY-01 that law enforcement trusts to help them keep their community safe, and that’s Bridget Fleming,” said DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre. “Nick LaLota is too extreme for Long Island.”
