As the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act passes this week, Republicans remain hellbent on ripping away affordable health care.
In a forum yesterday, not a single GOP candidate for Colorado’s 8th Congressional District committed to preserving the Affordable Care Act, threatening to repeal a measure that has expanded health care to more than 380,000 Coloradans. Candidates Tyler Alcorn, Janifer Kulmann, and Lori Saine committed to repealing the Affordable Care Act, while Barbara Kirkmeyer simply claimed “we’ve progressed beyond” it.
Of course, any ‘progress’ Kirkmeyer refers to is the direct result of the Affordable Care Act, which has led to an historic increase of insured Coloradans.
The Republicans of CO-08 are in lockstep with their party’s radical agenda. Just this month, Republican congressional leadership named repealing the ACA a top priority if they retake majorities in Congress.

“No matter who comes through Colorado 8th’s GOP primary, they will be dead set on ripping health care away from more than 380,000 Coloradans now insured through the Affordable Care Act. While Democrats strengthen health care protections, create jobs, and fight inflation, Republicans cling to their radical agenda of ripping health care away from working families.”
