Independent Voter: Nick Begich is “A Coward” Failing to Protect Alaskans’ Interests

• I’m 70 years old, a fourth-generation born-and-raised Alaskan…my great-grandfather, John Troy, first came to Alaska in the 1890s…upon taking office in 1933, FDR appointed John Troy to be the territorial governor of Alaska. He served as governor throughout the ’30s.
• I have followed politics for 27 election cycles. The political system in our state and nation is not currently functioning the way our Founding Fathers envisioned.
• Now is the time for Congress and the courts to exercise the power given them by the U.S. Constitution…Congress has been missing in action.
• Republicans are too afraid of Trump to do their job…Nick Begich [is a] coward who cannot find the courage to protect the rights and responsibilities of Congress or the interests of Alaska. [He doesn’t] even have the courage or courtesy to return my phone calls.
• I am a nonpartisan voter who has voted for many R’s — as recently as voting for Sen. Murkowski last cycle. I will never vote for a Republican again unless they denounce Trump.
• Begich [has] shown that [he is] not up to the job…[he] must be replaced ASAP with leaders who respect and defend our Constitution, our state and our country and have the courage to stand up to an out of control and criminal administration. That is what defines a free country.
