Inflation Reduction Act Delivers for Families and Workers

The IRA has created more than 334,000 jobs and lowered costs for millions of families since its passage in 2022

Two years ago, the Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law thanks to the leadership of President Biden and House Democrats.

The historic legislation has delivered for working families across the country by cutting costs, creating jobs, and investing in American manufacturing. The Inflation Reduction Act has:

• Saved families an average of $300 a year on energy costs.

• Created more than 334,000 jobs and is projected to create more than 1.5 million jobs by 2030.

• Capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for Medicare recipients, saving millions of Americans an average of $500 per year.

• Capped prescription drug costs for Medicare recipients at $2,000 per year (starting in 2025). More than 18 million seniors will save an average of $400 a year, 1.8 million of which could save as much as $2,500 a year.

• Kept the health care industry from raising costs on 13 million Americans who rely on the Affordable Care Act.

Every single House Republican voted against this landmark legislation. 

House Republicans have voted 42 times to repeal the job creating investments in the Inflation Reduction Act – but that hasn’t stopped their vulnerable members from trying to falsely take credit for the jobs and investments created from legislation passed by House Democrats.
