What exactly is Congressman Chip Roy (TX-21) doing?
After melting down at a U.S. House committee hearing last week and defending drug company profits, Congressman Roy is back at it – voting against a bill to undo a part of the GOP Tax Scam that raised taxes on Gold Star families.
Even Republicans who previously supported the tax hike on Gold Star families voted to repent for the GOP’s political sin – but not Congressman Roy. He was one of the only Members of Congress to oppose this commonsense fix.
“Congressman Roy’s shocking vote for higher taxes on families who lost a loved one in service of the nation is not only political malpractice, it’s a moral stain on his record,” DCCC Spokesperson Avery Jaffe said. “Chip Roy will have to live with this vote for the rest of his life.”
