| Mariannette Miller-Meeks seems to have forgotten that last month, she voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history.
Miller-Meeks attended a roundtable with rural Iowa hospitals leaders, where the big question was: “how can we minimize [Medicaid cuts’] impact to rural hospitals?”
To be abundantly clear: this was CAUSED by Miller-Meeks’ vote to gut Medicaid.
Iowa hospital leaders “[know] federal reductions in Medicaid spending will have an impact on rural hospitals” and “expressed concern with changes in the federal legislation made to the state-directed payments program.”
Health care and hospital leaders warned repeatedly that the Big, Ugly Law would jeopardize the continued operations of Iowa’s rural hospitals, but Miller-Meeks voted for it anyway because she cares more about giving handouts to billionaires.
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks seems to have forgotten that last month, she voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. It’s thanks to Miller-Meeks that Iowa’s rural hospitals are scrambling to figure out how to keep their doors open after she voted for the Big, Ugly Law that risks their funding and continued operations. Miller-Meeks is a total phony and Iowans see right through her.”
