50 GOP National Security Experts Say Trump Would Make U.S. Less Safe
Vulnerable Congressman Darrell Issa, one of Donald Trump’s most vocal supporters, has praised Trump specifically for his approach to the military and foreign policy.
That means Issa is backing a man who fifty top Republican national security experts said yesterday, “would be the most reckless president in American history.” In an open letter, they raised the alarm at the prospect of a Trump presidency, confirming that Trump would put our national security at risk.
The experts said:
“Mr. Trump lacks the character, values, and experience to be president.”
“He weakens U.S. moral authority as the leader of the free world.”
“He appears to lack basic knowledge about the belief in the U.S. Constitution, U.S. laws, and U.S. institutions, including religious tolerance, freedom of the press, and an independent judiciary.”
They conclude that he “would be the most reckless president in American history.”
And this is who Issa still believes should be our nation’s commander in chief.
“Darrell Issa is supporting someone who experts agree is too reckless and dangerous to be president,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “If Issa’s support for Trump is based on his national security outlook, then Issa is almost as reckless as Trump himself.”
