It’s February 25th. There’s No E15 Bill. Iowa Corn Growers to Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks: “What are you waiting for?”

It’s February 25th: Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ deadline for a vote on year-round E15. And yet, Nunn and Miller-Meeks’ bill is nowhere to be found.

The Iowa Corn Growers Association is directly calling out Nunn and Miller-Meeks, saying:

“What are you waiting for? Iowa farmers are operating at over $1 per acre UNDER the cost of production. And Midwest BANKRUPTCIES are UP 200% since last year. ACT NOW! Help Iowa farmers, families and rural communities.”

Renewable Fuels Association CEO Geoff Cooper said this morning:
“So this council was given a deadline of February 25th, today, to bring compromise legislation to a vote on the House Floor. Well, as of 8AM this morning we still haven’t seen a bill.”

REMINDER:
Nunn and Miller-Meeks abandoned all leverage they had when they rolled over and refused to stop Republicans from stripping it out of a must-pass spending bill.

AND WHAT’S MORE:
The Chair of the House Agriculture Committee already made clear
E15 will not be included in the long-delayed Farm Bill, further complicating any chance of passage. Both Nunn and Miller-Meeks’ own party and Big Oil are already planning an E15 deal.

Nunn is even spending his time posing for photo ops instead of taking any real action.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Zach Nunn and Mariannette Miller-Meeks caved to their D.C. bosses instead of standing up for Iowa farmers, and are failing yet again. It’s time for new leadership that will actually put Iowans first.”
