| Things are about to get ugly for Republicans in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.
Republicans are officially locked into a messy, three-way primary that will surely descend into a race to see who can be most closely aligned with MAGA and Trump – leaving whoever emerges badly damaged and out-of-step with Virginia voters.
Here are three questions that VA-07 GOP candidates Philip Harding, Ricky Smithers, and Doug Ollivant must answer:
- Do they support Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill which made historic cuts to health care in order to fund tax breaks for billionaires, and gutted energy tax credits which will spike utility costs?
- Do they support Donald Trump’s cost-spiking tariffs which have jacked up costs on everything from groceries to housing for Virginians?
- Do they stand by Donald Trump’s DOGE cuts that devastating Virginia’s economy and hurt Virginia veterans?
