It’s Too Late, Republicans Have Lost the Latino Vote

“This is a community that’s desperate, frustrated, angry

The 2025 election triumph for Democrats makes it clear as day that Republicans have lost the support of the American people, and that Latino voters are desperate for a change.

Democrats’ winning message and vision is in line with the issues that matter most to Latinos: affordability, economic opportunity, and health care access. Under Trump’s leadership, Republicans have shown they are out of touch, and their reckless economic policies have only made life entirely unaffordable.

Compared to last year, an alarming 39% of Latinos feel they are worse off, and 65% believe Republicans are not doing enough to fix the economy.

DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“Latino voters are helping power Democratic wins because we’re fighting for them: for good-paying jobs, affordable health care, and opportunity for every family. Republicans are scared because their catastrophic Republican agenda of divisions and cuts has slashed Latino support. In 2026, Latinos will be a driving force in restoring Democratic leadership.”

  • Republicans failed this week to maintain the inroads with Black and Hispanic voters that helped deliver Donald Trump the presidency and hand Republicans a majority in the House and Senate.
  • In New Jersey, governor-elect Mikie Sherrill won 77% of non-white voters, and Virginia’s governor-elect Abigail Spanberger won 83%, according to CNN’s initial exit polls. Exit polls are subject to change, although both Sherrill and Spanberger performed well in counties with higher populations of non-white voters.
