After months of dodging voluntary interview requests and endless attempts to whitewash and rewrite the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol, today 5 House Republicans were subpoenaed to testify in front of the House select committee investigating January 6.
Included in the 5 Republican subpoenas is GOP minority leader Kevin McCarthy. These obstructionists will now need to answer under oath as to what role they had in or what knowledge they had of one of the greatest assaults on American Democracy.
DCCC spokesperson Chris Taylor:
“Americans know that January 6th was one of the greatest assaults on our Democracy in history and they deserve to hear the truth about what Kevin McCarthy and the other subpoenaed Republicans knew. House Republicans’ feckless lies and contempt for the brave police officers who defended the Capitol show just how dangerous they would be if allowed to control Congress.”
