Bynum will flip OR-05 blue and help take back the House majority
Today, the DCCC announced that Janelle Bynum has been added to the first round of its highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Bynum, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as she runs for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District.
“As a working mom of four, a businesswoman, and a long-time champion for Oregon families in the State House, Janelle Bynum has spent years standing up for others and paying opportunity forward. She’s the right leader for this moment, and the right candidate to replace Lori Chavez-DeRemer and her extreme track record in DC,” said DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene.
Janelle Bynum is an Oregon state legislator with a proven track record of delivering results. A small business owner, engineer, and mom of four, Janelle has been a consistent champion for Oregon families and is ready to represent the communities of the 5th District in Congress. During her four terms in the state legislature, Janelle has worked with her colleagues across the aisle to protect reproductive rights, address housing affordability, and strengthen Oregon’s local economy. This past legislative session, Janelle led the push in the Oregon House to pass the Oregon CHIPS Act, which will give Oregon a competitive edge and help bring thousands of good jobs in the semiconductor industry to the state.
In previous races for the Oregon State House, Janelle has twice beaten the incumbent, Lori Chavez-DeRemer – and she’ll do it again in 2024.
