Janelle Stelson Calls Out Scott Perry for Skyrocketing Gas Prices: “Our Congressman is Just Making it Worse”

Vulnerable Congressman Scott Perry campaigned on a promise to lower costs for Central Pennsylvanians. Receipts show he’s done the opposite.

So longtime local broadcast journalist Janelle Stelson is doing what she does best: Holding the powerful accountable and calling out Washington politicians like Perry who are hurting her community.

Flanked by local supporters outside of a Mobil gas station in Harrisburg, Janelle criticized Perry for unleashing rising costs: “The people of Central Pennsylvania deserve answers, because the cost of living is crushing Central Pennsylvania families and our congressman, Scott Perry, just keeps making it worse.”

National and local press highlighted Janelle’s remarks, along with residents who spoke out on the pain Perry is causing. See the coverage for yourself:

“Janelle Stelson, a Democrat running to oust incumbent Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pennsylvania) in a district that stretches across the central part of the state, stood in front of a Mobil gas station, where the sign behind her read $4.24 for a gallon of regular unleaded and over $6 for diesel.”
“‘The people of Central Pennsylvania deserve answers, because the cost of living is crushing Central Pennsylvania families and our congressman, Scott Perry, just keeps making it worse,’ Stelson said Monday at a press conference outside of a Mobil gas station along Walnut Street in Harrisburg.”
“‘Central Pennsylvania families are being squeezed from every direction,’ Stelson said. ‘The man who’s supposed to fight for them is fighting against them. Scott Perry stopped listening a long time ago.’”
“Alandrie Bennett, a professional mover and Uber driver in Harrisburg, said his costs have increased exponentially. ‘I almost cried when I saw it was at $4,’ Bennett said, referring to the gas prices in Pennsylvania. ‘I’m hoping that [Stelson] can use her connections and her prowess and really hammer down on the everyday things.’”
