Jen Kiggans’ Constituents Are Starting to See Their Health Care Premiums Skyrocket for 2026

Virginia’s insurance marketplace is already showing price hikes for next year

Insurance companies are starting to reveal next year’s premium rates through Virginia’s insurance marketplace – and the price hikes are staggering because Republicans have failed to extend ACA tax credits.

In Chesapeake, Virginia, a couple could see their premiums jump from $749 a month to $2,092 a month — a $1,342 a month increase for the same plan, all because Congresswoman Jen Kiggans refuses to act.

Reminder: Rather than negotiate to prevent Virginians’ health care costs from skyrocketing, Kiggans chose to skip town instead. Kiggans has also openly admitted that she opposes extending the ACA tax credits beyond just one year, telling Punchbowl News: “We don’t need these.”
