| Spineless Jen Kiggans is choosing Confederate generals over her Virginia constituents.
Kiggans last week voted against a bipartisan amendment that would have stopped Pete Hegseth’s crusade to resurrect banned Confederate military base names, dishonoring the contributions of Black veterans in the process.
USA Today reports that multiple Republicans “joined Democrats in a dramatic late-night vote to approve the amendment,” and that the “Senate Armed Services Committee passed a limited-but-similar measure in its version of the bill to block renaming of bases in Virginia.”
But Kiggans refused to join the bipartisan group of her colleagues standing up for Virginia and for the Black veterans and servicemembers across her district.
On top of her betrayal, Kiggans’ vote in support of Hegseth’s push could cost millions of dollars, costing taxpayers instead of helping to lower costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Jen Kiggans voted to support Pete Hegseth’s disgusting crusade to restore Confederate names to American military bases, dishonoring the contributions of Black veterans in the process. Kiggans’ latest betrayal proves once again that she cares more about obeying her party bosses than actually doing the right thing for her constituents.” |
