Jen Kiggans Would Vote On House Republicans’ National Abortion Ban

After desperately claiming abortion bans will be “kicked back to the states,” Kiggans’ party introduces national abortion ban

This week, Republicans introduced two bills in Congress to outlaw abortion nationwide, and NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer is a cosponsor – officially putting to rest Jen Kiggans’ feeble claims that abortion bans will be the job of the states, not Congress.

Kiggans has tried to backpedal on her fervently anti-abortion platform in recent weeks, claiming that abortion is a “state-level issue” and just a “shiny object” being used to distract voters. “Banning abortion is not on my agenda,” Kiggans claimed in a Fox News interview last week.

But as it turns out, banning abortion is squarely on the agenda. If Republicans win the House majority, they will pass a nationwide abortion ban, preventing women and girls in all 50 states from getting the health care they need – and Kiggans would be right there with them.

“Jen Kiggans is trying to run from and confuse voters about her record on abortion because she knows it will be toxic for her in November,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “The truth is that Kiggans said in her own words that she is ‘100%, unapologetically pro-life’ and will be a rubber stamp for the Republican Party’s abortion bans in Congress.”
