Joe Garcia Added to DCCC Red to Blue Program
DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced the addition of former Congressman Joe Garcia, Florida’s 26th Congressional District candidate, to the Red to Blue program.
“Congressman Joe Garcia has spent his entire life in public service, working for his community and making sure everyone can achieve the American dream. From fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act, to effectively working towards fixing our broken immigration system, Joe has always stood by these values.
“This stands in stark contrast with Carlos Curbelo, who repeatedly falls in line with the Republican Party, despite purporting to be a moderate in this diverse district where his standard-bearer, Donald Trump, is toxic,” said Chairman Ben Ray Luján.
This Red to Blue designation indicates that Joe Garcia will run a top-notch campaign through election day, putting him in an excellent position to join the Democratic caucus. Beyond promising campaign strength, Joe Garcia has proven he will put country before politics and stand up for hardworking families.
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and Congressman Denny Heck (WA-10) are co-chairs of the Red to Blue program. There are now more than 51 candidates in the Red to Blue or Emerging Races programs.
