John Duarte Called Out for Admitting He’s ‘Not That Far From a Lot of These Freedom Caucus Guys’

Highly vulnerable Republican John Duarte – who represents a district President Biden won in 2020 – is under fire for attempting to walk away from his comments endorsing the far-right House Freedom Caucus.

Earlier this week, Duarte told Punchbowl News, “I’m not that far from a lot of these Freedom Caucus guys.”

But Duarte’s voting record tells the real story: he votes with extreme conspiracy theorist and fellow House Freedom Caucus member Marjorie Taylor Greene 92% of the time. 

The House Freedom Caucus agenda includes:

• Cutting food assistance programs

• Gutting good-paying, clean energy jobs

• Decreasing funding for law enforcement

• Increasing prescription drug costs
