This week, vulnerable freshman Republican John James voted in favor of an amendment restricting the use of federal funds for a new FBI headquarters.
Republican attacks on our law enforcement are nothing new. Earlier this year, James worked overtime with MAGA Republicans on a failed federal budget that would defund law enforcement by slashing funding for the FBI, DEA, and other cuts that could lead to the elimination of hundreds of state and local law enforcement nationwide.
DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“With John James’ most recent push to defund our federal law enforcement, he’s yet again pandering to the far-right fringes of his party. If Republicans like James get their way, they would cripple our law enforcement institutions all to appease Donald Trump.”
