Yesterday, Donald Trump doubled down on his record of making ignorant comments about race during an interview with the NABJ, this time questioning Vice President Harris’ Blackness.
Despite running to represent a diverse district, John Lee continues to stay silent as Trump touts his racist claims. It’s no surprise given Lee’s own problematic record with race.
John Lee has accepted more than $50,000 in campaign contributions from his “good friend” Don Ahern, who is facing calls for an investigation into allegations he “repeatedly us[ed] racial slurs in the workplace.” Lee has called for the end of birthright citizenship, a move long pushed by white supremacists.
In a stark contrast, Steven Horsford was on CNN calling Trump out for his racist claims.

“John Lee is proud to stand by Donald Trump and his repeated racism. He has made it clear that he will never fight for Black communities in Vegas and will fail to defend them at every turn.”
