Josh Riley Takes Aim at Corruption with Legislation to Ban Congressional Stock Trading

Congressman Josh Riley is delivering on his promise to put working families ahead of Washington insiders by co-sponsoring the Transparent Representation Upholding Service and Trust (TRUST) in Congress Act: legislation aimed at ending insider trading in the halls of Congress and delivering better, more ethical governance across Washington, D.C.

The bipartisan bill would close loopholes to prevent elected officials from profiting off of access to non-public information – a part of Riley’s broader efforts to make Washington a place that works for everyday people, not corrupt politicians.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Josh Riley is exactly the kind of leader Upstate New York needs: someone who is willing to challenge the status quo and fight for real accountability in Washington. Voters are sick and tired of politicians who play by a different set of rules to get ahead, and Riley is working to change that — sending a clear message that public service should be about integrity, not insider profits.”
