Juan Ciscomani Marches Toward Nationwide Abortion Ban Before 51st Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Ciscomani has previously said he wants abortion to be a states issue, but continuously votes for national restrictions

Today, Juan Ciscomani and House Republicans passed two bills that chip away at women’s constitutional freedoms and attempt to deny them access to essential reproductive health care.

These measures would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential health care. The first of these was even endorsed by the extreme, anti-choice National Right to Life Committee, an organization that advocates for a national abortion ban.

Juan Ciscomani is already on the record co-sponsoring legislation that would prevent the VA from providing reproductive care to veterans – despite representing over 70,000 veterans in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District – and voting to restrict access to abortion medication nationwide.

Today’s dangerous votes come as new polling shows historic levels of support for abortion access, including 66% of voters who oppose ongoing Republican efforts to pass a national abortion ban.

House Republicans are doing everything they can to restrict abortion access, no matter how unpopular.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“Another day, another anti-abortion vote by Juan Ciscomani. Time and time again, he refuses to stand up for Arizonans’ freedoms, instead choosing to lie to Arizonans and stand with extreme MAGA efforts to ban abortion nationwide no matter how unpopular or dangerous these relentless attacks are.”
