Juan Ciscomani Supports Abortion Ban with No Exception for Rape or Incest

In an interview with Arizona Daily Star, Juan Ciscomani voiced his support for Arizona’s new extreme 15 week abortion ban – signed into law by his former boss Gov. Doug Ducey and set to go into effect on September 24 – that does not have exceptions in cases of rape or incest.

When asked if he would allow a woman to get an abortion if she wants one, Ciscomani replied that he supports Arizona’s draconian ban:

Q: If there is a 25 year old woman and she doesn’t want to be pregnant, should she be able to have an abortion?

A: The state will have to decide that. I would support the law in the state of Arizona.

In March 2022, Gov. Ducey signed Senate Bill 1164, which makes performing abortions after 15 weeks a felony for doctors. This bill has no exceptions for rape or incest, and only allows abortion in “cases of medical emergency.”

Juan Ciscomani may try to hide his radical support for outlawing abortion, but he proudly supports Arizona Republicans’ extreme abortion ban, which makes performing abortions in cases of rape or incest a felony.

DCCC Spokesperson Monica Robinson:
“Juan Ciscomani is a danger to Arizona women and girls. He’s made no secret that he supports outlawing abortion and, if elected, he will push more radical legislation that criminalizes health care. Voters will reject his backward, cruel agenda this November.”
