Juan Ciscomani Touts “Commitment to Protecting” Rural Hospitals… After Casting Deciding Vote to Gut Funding for Rural Hospitals

Thousands of rural Arizonans would lose their health care under Ciscomani’s plan to gut rural health care funding to pay for tax cuts for billionaires

SHOT: Vulnerable Republican Juan Ciscomani held a photo op at a rural Arizona hospital to supposedly “reiterate [his] commitment to protecting and strengthening rural health care.” Ciscomani touted his visit in his weekly constituent newsletter:

CHASER: Just days ago, Ciscomani cast the deciding vote to gut funding for rural hospitals by ripping Medicaid away from hundreds of thousands of Arizonans.

Rural hospitals disproportionately depend on Medicaid funding to keep their doors open. Hundreds of rural hospitals are at risk of closing if Ciscomani’s plan becomes law, which will force all patients in rural communities – regardless of insurance – to pay more for care.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Juan Ciscomani cast the deciding vote to drain funding for rural hospitals to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. His latest press tour is insulting to rural communities, and Arizonans will hold him accountable in 2026.”
